A special licence allowing them to still function is in place. Wonder how long that will continue and let's see who jumps ship first.

I think they should be forced to sell all their assets and give any funds to Ukraine. They can still play their youth team though!

Bring on the fire sale lol

Tuchel throws his toys out of the pram every time someone from the press asks him about Abramovich.

Can't wait to see what he's like in his next press conference.

The CHERRIES have a Russian owner? Could see a headline of 'Cherries drop'

Re: Roman Abramovich
Incredible that it has taken the invasion of Ukraine - let's face it, an act that has absolutely nothing to do with the UK - to filter this Grade A from UK football.

He's been washing Putin-approved dirty money (which, in reality, belongs to millions of people in Russia) through Chelsea since 2003 and everybody sat idly by and let him for decades.

You know somebody is a wrong 'un when even the Swiss won't let him in.

He's desperately sought solace in Israel, Switzerland and now Portugal (where, presumably, he faces more sanctions?) because he's pretty much on the run.

Good fucking riddance.

Not allowed to sell tickets or merch.
Club sale barred.

Are you sure about this? I understood they would be allowed to continue operating as a football club - meaning tickets for sale along with the merchandise.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned by UK government

Premier League club seized as part of action

Chelsea club shop must close, no more match tickets can be sold

FMOB!

Lee Trundle 12:00 Thu Mar 10
Re: Roman Abramovich
He can't profit from the sale.

I wonder what it means to all that money he's lent the club?

Can he just take it from the club and sell them for what he bought it for?

Chelsea are a well oiled machine, so can probably cope quite well if he can't take that debt and run.

Only ST can get in.
Club shop has to close.

Assume no away fans then and we're there next month. Oh well, I'll take that.

southbankbornnbred 12:03 Thu Mar 10
Re: Roman Abramovich
Looks at this point as though only 'existing ticket holders' will be allowed in to Chelsea games - no 'new' ticket sales for the time being, according to some press.

No away fans at future games - can't sell to them, either.

But I can't see that situation being maintained.

Still...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Re: Roman Abramovich
They really are fucked under these sanctions, unless the clunb or Abramovich can loosen the legal order...because the current order prevents him from being able to sell the club to, or through, any UK businessman or firm. The 'through' bit would be important - because UK lawyers would have to oversee any sale.

So, by the letter of that order, Chelsea are properly fucked.

Can see some sort of compromise, though, with this spineless government of cronies...

Re: Roman Abramovich
Is this even legal? We may not like Chelsea or Abrahmovic, but surely there must be a legal process and a defendant must be allowed to make representation as well as having some evidence put before a court?

Or is that old fashioned?

Re: Roman Abramovich
I suppose we will actually see how well run Chelsea actually is lol!

Just like Man City etc. all this creative accounting … we are in profit blah blah

I bet you the club can’t run a couple of months without access to romans credit line.

The wage bill from that club must be crazy. Plus if they aren’t allowed to profit do they get their tv money (assuming that’s split payment).

Plus, they have contracts that will run out in the summer for players like Rudiger. Wouldn’t be surprised if players successfully challenged their existing contracts as who wants to work for a sanctioned person?

Ultimately though this is great news. I said right at the beginning of this conflict that when this thing becomes “bad for business” , putins oligarchs will have to put pressure on him to stop this or they will somehow try to remove him. It’s all getting silly now. What is he really gaining from bombing children in hospitals the disgusting cunt. Feel nothing for that evil man and his cronies.
